Travel green and experience the stunning Stegastein viewpoint on this guided sightseeing tour from Flåm with an electric bus, and explore the Aurlandsfjord from above! The Stegastein viewpoint is a 30 meter long and 4-meter wide construction made of steel and laminated pine. It was designed by Todd Saunders and Tommie Wilhelmsen and completed in 2006. On the platform 650 meters above sea level, you will have panoramic views of the Aurlandsfjord, Aurlandsvangen, and the mountains.
Tour description
The tour starts near the railway station in Flåm and continues out the beautiful bay towards the area’s municipal center, Aurland. On the way out the fjord, you will pass by Otternes, where you will catch a glimpse of a cluster of 18th-century farms on the hillside.
When you get to Aurland, the climb starts up towards Stegastein’s vantage point. On the way up the steep mountainside towards Stegastein, you will have a scenic view over the Aurlandsfjord and the beautiful mountains. After a stop on the top of around 25 minutes, the trip continues back to Flåm. The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and a half.
Along the way, an audio guide will supply you with interesting information about the area, the landscape, and the local history.

Luggage: Limited space on the bus. Use nearby storage at the Flåm Information Center before boarding. Inform the driver if you are short on time.
Animals: Not allowed
Child seats: Some standard child seats available. Please inform us of the child’s age when booking.
Meeting point: Bus stop A/B in Flåm, 50 meters from Flåm Railway end station. Arrive 10 minutes before departure.
Payment: Card payments may be accepted on board. Online booking is recommended to secure your seat.
Child age: 0–15 years = child, 15+ = adult.
Winter conditions: During periods with snow or poor road conditions, tours may be adapted to what is safely possible. Access to Otternes Farm Village can sometimes be difficult on days with snow in March and October.
